1971 Ferrari 312P Sports Racer

An incredible 1:8 scale kit of the classic Ferrari sports racer, by the fanatics that brought us the Ferrari 126 C2 F1 kit.
Materials used (many authentic to the real car) include:
  • tubular brass chassis with prefabricated mounts for suspension, engine, etc.
  • chassis panels formed from photo-etched metal
  • hand laminated fiberglass body
  • engine, differential, and gearbox cast in aluminium
  • other parts cast in brass and beryllium-copper
  • rubber gaskets and tires
  • machined, brass plated wheels simulate the originals
  • hundreds of photo-etched parts in nickel-silver, bronze, brass, stainless steel
  • real screws and bolts
  • seat lining in cloth with scale-correct pattern
  • many other small parts cast in white metal
  • shock absorbers, instruments turned in brass and aluminium
Assembly is primarily with nuts, bolts, and screws. 18 pounds of parts, over 2100 individual pieces.
The clear and logical instruction manual includes color photos for each step, and all parts are bagged in small groups corresponding to each step in the assembly. I also include the full manual on CD in PDF format which allows closer examination and enlargement of construction photos if desired. This is the ultimate 1:8 scale Ferrari kit, fanatically engineered and not for the novice modeller.
Each version is strictly limited to 150 serial numbered kits (plus 50 kits reserved for built models). A stand-alone engine kit will also available for display outside the car (only 400 serial numbered engine kits will be produced). See pages from the detailed assembly manual below.
