Long Beach USGP version with experimental rear wing
an incredible 1:8 scale kit of the classic Ferrari Formula One racer driven by Gilles Villeneuve
Materials authentic to the real car include carbon fiber, aluminum, brass, and other metals. Assembly primarily with nuts, bolts, and screws. 18 pounds of parts, over 2100 individual pieces. The chassis is composed of two vertically sectioned shells CNC machined from aluminum billet. The undertray and body are genuine carbon fiber (some trimming along molded-in lines is required). Wings, wheels, shock absorbers, and exhaust are machined metal. Many smaller metal parts are in brass, nickel silver, and copper. The cast metal parts have no flash and almost no mold lines. Hundreds of precision photo-etched metal parts in brass, nickel silver, stainless steel, and aluminum. The brake air scoops are molded in fiberglass (the only non-metal or carbon fiber parts in the kit).
The clear and logical instruction manual includes color photos for each step, and all parts are bagged in small groups corresponding to each step in the assembly. I also include the full manual on CD in PDF format which allows closer examination and enlargement of construction photos if desired. This is the ultimate 1:8 scale Ferrari kit, fanatically engineered and not for the novice modeller.
Each version is strictly limited to 150 serial numbered kits (plus 50 kits reserved for built models). A stand-alone engine kit is also available for display outside the car (only 400 serial numbered engine kits will be produced). See pages from the detailed assembly manual below.
